ExperienceRoger A. Marsh became "Of Counsel" with Beckett & Webber, P.C. in mid-2009, after engaging in private practice in Champaign County for thirty-five years. After graduation from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1974, he was admitted to practice in Illinois. Roger immediately formed a small law firm and has continuously engaged in private practice concentrating in the areas of Family Law and Real Estate Law.
Professional and Civic ActivitiesRoger was elected as President of the Champaign County Collaborative Law Association in 2010. He has previously served as the President of the Champaign County Bar Association and is a former chair of its Real Estate Committee. He has served on its Family Law Committee for over twenty-five years. In 2002, he was recognized as the Champaign County Bar Association's Pro Bono Attorney of the Year and continues to provide pro bono services through the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation.
Roger is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and its Family Law Section. He served for ten years on the Illinois State Bar Association's Standing Committe on Judicial Evaluation and formerly served as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association's Ad Hoc Committee on Bar Leadership.
Roger was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois College of Law, a former Instructor of Real Estate Law at Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois, and has been invited to be a guest lecturer at Spertus College of Judiaca, Chicago, Illinois and a seminar speaker at Southern Illinois University College of Law, Carbondale, Illinois. He has also been a frequent speaker on the subjects of divorce (including Collaborative Divorce) and real estate at the People's Law School, a program sponsored annually by the Champaign County Bar Association.
As a long time resident of Champaign-Urbana, Roger has been active in the community. He was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of a locally owned bank, was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Champaign County Design & Conservation Foundation, was elected to the Board of Directors of a local telephone company, served as a member of the local chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, was appointed and served on the City of Urbana Community Develpment Commission and was appointed and served on the Champaign County Citizens' Committee to Restore the Courthouse Clock and Bell Tower.
